  • 100 % of our board makes a direct donation to Sadie Nash that represents a significant personal contribution to the organizations. Additionally, there are several opportunities throughout the year for the board to engage their networks and organization in giving to Sadie Nash. Our board gives across all donor ranges, and works collaboratively to fulfill the board give/get goal each year. We would like the 7 new board members to be able to leverage $100K each fiscal year for Sadie Nash via their give/get.

    • In FY24 our board give was $191,990, our board get was $258,680, for a total of $450,670.

    • 7% of the board contributed at >1000;

    • 28.5 % contributed between 1K and 4999;

    • 7% contributed between 5K and 9999;

    • 14.3 % at 10K - 19999;

    • 14.3 % at 20K - 29999, and;

    • 28.5 % above 50K.

  • We are actively seeking board members that are committed to the mission of Sadie Nash Leadership Project to create spaces to support and advance the leadership of young women and gender expansive youth of color. Key to our work as a board is alignment with the updated Feminist Board Values, which prioritize community, equity, collaboration and just governance.

  • We are a multi- racial and cultural, intergenerational, LGBTQI inclusive board, committed to expanding our gender diversity and commitment to racial and gender justice – we are guided by our feminist values when articulating the equity and diversity considerations for our board membership. This year, we would like to prioritize:

    • At least 2 new members connected to Newark in considerable ways

    • Gender identity diversity – specifically, hoping to recruit gender expansive and trans folks to our board

    • Latinx and Afro Latina board members

    • Right now, we are leaning heavily into Board Members who are based and have deep connections to the NYC/NJ metro area

    • Feminists performing well in capitalism

    • Engagement is critical for participation in the SN board and we expect board members to have the ability to attend board meetings, as well as actively participate in committees across the year. We have an expectation that board members will spend 4 - 8 hours per month on SN business.

    • Experienced board members - not entirely new to board service
