WHAT IS SIBLINGHOOD ACADEMY?

Siblinghood Academy is an afterschool program designed for participants to use their own life experiences as a starting point to explore and discuss issues that matter to them as they build a close, supportive community with each other.

We also offer the M.P.J. (Marsha P. Johnson) Siblinghood program that is a virtual siblinghood program specifically for trans and gender-expansive youth to participate in workshops around community building, identity, leadership, media, healthy relationships, wellness, youth activism, and social justice within LGBTQ+ history and spaces.

DURING THE PROGRAM NASHERS:

  • Engage in workshops around identity, healthy relationships, media, youth activism, and unique topics they are interested in

  • Participate in field trips and conferences to explore their community and strengthen their confidence, communication, and other leadership skill

Siblinghood Academy provides a safe, creative environment for Nashers to build tight-knit relationships with peers, learn about the world around them, and explore their role as leaders in that world.

What Do Nashers Say About It?

“It was the first time I felt like I mattered, that I had a voice, and that I could have an impact. When I started at Sadie Nash, I had zero sisters. But I came out with 65 sisters who had my back and I had theirs.”

— Nasher, Siblinghood Academy
