As the Sun Rises
Poem by Benazir C.
As the sun rises
The world is no longer grey
My senses of constant fight or flight all seems to have gone away
And all the worries of my past have begun to minimize
All through the hard days are through
Hard work is still abrew
Scrubs on
Scrubs off
No matter how hard I scrub
The trace of chemicals never quite leave my nose
But my world is bright
While it could be attested to the artificial white light
The exoskeleton of anxiety that had ran off into the night is to be awarded
The troubles of my past cannot be erased
But the sun has risen at last
And at last I can just be
Benazir’s vision board about her future to accompany the poem.
