WHAT IS THE ELMEZZI SUMMER EXPERIENCE GRANT?
The SNLP Summer Experience Grant offers current and alumni Sadie Nash Leadership Project participants (ages 14-23) the funding support to pursue leadership, educational, and/or social justice opportunities that might otherwise be out of reach because of associated costs (travel, no-low pay, material costs, etc.).
Since 2013, this initiative has supported over 70 Fellows, who have used the funds to attend the Woodrow Wilson Center’s Middle East Program, work as policy interns in Washington, D.C., or participate in a medical immersion program in Nepal. They also used the funds to attend conferences, such as the Free Minds Free People conference in 2015, and to conduct independent research projects, including research into Blackness in Latin America and sex work in India.
